PERSONAL PROFILE

Johnson has encountered many life challenges from being born deaf in one ear, to working third-shift jobs paying toward undergraduate tuition. Due to their single-sided deafness, Johnson overcame a childhood speech impediment through singing. 
After earning an undergraduate degree in psychology at Winston-Salem State University, Johnson began a law enforcement career at the same institution. Upon being hired, they enrolled in and completed the basic law enforcement training program at Davidson County Community College. Now, as a sworn officer they recognize the need for more mental health professionals is prevalent in communities across the state, region, and nation. 
As a law enforcement officer, Johnson's goal is to protect and serve the community while providing life tools of protecting the mind and body. With her background in studying psychology, they have an understanding and awareness of the simple concept that the mind and body are connected and must both be protected equally.
